The contract includes a package of the following Leasys fleet insurance policies

MTPL insurance (mandatory)

Mandatory civil liability insurance covers personal injury and property damage caused to third parties in connection with the use of a vehicle and guarantees the payment of compensation to victims of an accident or collision. The sum guaranteed for bodily injury is 29 876 400 PLN and 6 021 600 PLN for property damage per event. The policy is issued for 12 months with automatic renewal, and coverage is valid in Poland and in countries that are signatories to the Multilateral Agreement.

Casco insurance

This insurance provides coverage for the vehicle against theft, damage, or destruction. The coverage includes the vehicle along with its standard and additional equipment, glass components, and keys. The insurance covers the costs of repairing the vehicle after damage and also protects against the financial consequences of its loss due to theft or other fortuitous events. The scope of coverage can be tailored to the policyholder’s needs and may include partial damage, total loss, and vehicle theft, or only vehicle theft and total loss. The sum insured is determined as of the effective date of coverage and may correspond to the net value, the net value plus 50% VAT, or the gross value of the vehicle. The policy is issued for a period of 12 months, and coverage is valid in Poland and within the geographical boundaries of Europe, excluding Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, and Belarus.

Green Card Insurance

This insurance serves as international proof of third-party liability coverage when traveling to select countries participating in the Green Card System. When traveling to countries such as Albania, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Moldova, North Macedonia, Tunisia, Turkey, or Ukraine, you must have an International Motor Insurance Certificate (Green Card), which is issued at no additional cost. The scope of coverage corresponds to that provided by mandatory third-party liability insurance and includes bodily injury and property damage caused to third parties in connection with the operation of a vehicle. The insurer’s liability covers incidents occurring outside Poland’s borders within the territories of the countries listed on the Green Card. The certificate is issued for a period ranging from 15 days to 12 months, but it cannot remain valid longer than the liability insurance policy for which it was issued.

Accidental insurance

Insurance for drivers and passengers provides financial protection in the event of traffic accidents. It covers benefits in the event of death, disability, temporary total disability, fractures, and burns. Additionally, the scope of coverage may include hospitalization, post-accident convalescence, loss of consciousness, and post-accident medical expenses. The policy is valid for a period of 12 months. Insurance coverage applies to incidents that occur within the territory of Poland and within the geographical boundaries of Europe, excluding Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, and Belarus.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible not to have third-party insurance?

The Act on Compulsory Insurance informs about the necessity to purchase a third-party liability insurance policy by every owner of a motor vehicle, and failure to do so will be associated with high penalties. In the event of an inspection, however, the regulations do not impose an obligation to carry insurance documents with you, because a police officer can verify whether the driver has third-party liability insurance by contacting the Insurance Guarantee Fund.

Why is it worth opting for comprehensive insurance?

Having AutoCasco insurance is a financial security in the event of a collision, theft or damage to the vehicle, which is not so difficult to obtain. We are talking about the forces of nature, bumps, scratches or acts of vandalism to which vehicles are exposed every day. In contrast to third-party insurance, which mainly protects other people in the event of damage caused by the vehicle user, comprehensive insurance protects the insured's own vehicle, which is why the funds go to them and not to third parties.

What are the consequences of not having a valid Green Card?

As the Green Card confirms the validity of the third-party liability insurance policy in some countries, its absence may entail additional costs – the need to purchase border insurance (for example, in 30 days in Moldova it will cost 7 euros, and in Morocco as much as 88 euros). Taking into account that the Green Card is an add-on, the cost of which is already included in the third-party liability insurance premium, requiring only an application, it is worth remembering about it before traveling to countries belonging to the Green Card system.

When does motor accident insurance work?

This insurance covers not only the consequences of an accident that occurred while driving the insured vehicle, but also when it occurred during the repair of the vehicle on the road, when getting out or getting into the vehicle, as well as while staying in it on the occasion of stopping or stopping.

I am driving a car with a driver's license issued in the USA. Does Third Party Liability and Casco insurance work in the event of an accident?

In Poland you can use an American International Driver's License for 183 days. Since the U.S. driver's license does not comply with the 1968 Vienna Convention, after this period, you must obtain the equivalent of the Polish driver's license by passing the theoretical exam. Lack of a Polish driving license after 6 months of staying in Poland means the lack of a valid document confirming the right to drive a vehicle. In the case of Casco, this circumstance excludes the insurer's liability, and in the case of Third Party Liability insurance, this circumstance determines the insurer's right to claim the compensation paid against the perpetrator of the event (Article 43(3) of the Act on Compulsory Insurance).
